Bummed out after yesterday’s crappy quilting crapfest, I thought today would be a good day to make something easy. What is easier than a coat of paint on an acorn? A coat of glitter on an acorn!

I did paint a few acorns orange (to make them into tiny jack-o-lanterns) and a few blue, but once I started gluing glitter to them, I forgot all about the paint. I just wanted more glitter. I glittered up some in red and some in rose quartz, but the copper coloured glitter I could not put down. I glued glitter to a bunch of acorns.
Lots of crafty people like the Crafty Chica and Cynthia use glitter in their work, but I’ve never really understood the allure of those shiny flecks. I think maybe because I only had experience using some 70′s or 80′s style chunky glitter that reminded me of homemade Valentines in the 5th grade. Now I know it’s the teensy, fine glitter that makes all the difference. It felt like fine sand in my fingers as I sprinkled it on the glue I dabbed on the acorn.
I think I’ll save these for the Christmas tree. I’ve got plenty more acorns…and I’m sure I can find some more pretty bronze glitter – I’m quite fond of that colour now.

Then you don’t know about German Glass glitter! Oh it is delightful! Love your acorns! THose would look really pretty tied to a package.
