Health sector – Activate!

We have been watching hockey since 11:30 this morning. It’s been non-stop couch potatoing at the Brownes the last few days. How can we not be? All this hockey plus the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and all the others. Yeesh.

While watching the games, I made some fabric yarn out of some yellow and gold fabric I found in my office. I picked the fabric up a few months ago to sew a little mat for the “health” area of our house – which is the centre of the house (according to all my research in the Feng Shui department.) and in the centre of our house sits a cute cabinet where I store my photos and certificates and other sentimental things. On top of the cabinet sits a little black kitty bank.

Rather than sewing a little mat, I decided to crochet a mat after seeing this tutorial on making fabric yarn. I tore up the fabric into 1/2 inch strips while Oscar watched with big eyes and would occasionally reach up with a paw.

It crochets together quickly, so it’s a nice little project. I think my next project will be to crochet a rug for the front entrance. I’ve got plenty of fabric I haven’t used in ages stacked up in my office, and that would be a good way to use it up.

Since I will be seeing this little gold mat every day, it will remind me that I’m healthy and that means I’ll do what healthy people do – going for walks, doing some yoga, eating more fruit and veggies.

It could happen. Heh.
