I got my groove back!

Hey, wait a minute. That would imply I once had quilting groove, wouldn’t it? That’s a little braggy. I’m sorry about that. I woke up this morning at 4:20…I couldn’t sleep. Time to get on the sewing machine. Really? These pot holders woke me up before the birds? Yup. Yup they did.

I made these using this technique – you sew on paper. I loved it. You sew the strips diagonally on a 10X10 square piece of paper and then pull the paper off after. Very cool! I love how it turned out. I then cut the square into 4 equal squares and then sewed them together. They made wonky (on purpose!) patterns. I then sewed them together sandwich style and hand stitched the opening closed. There are two layers of stuffing inside – a cotton layer and then a heatproof layer. Safety first!

Okay. One more photo.

In even better news, the swap partner crisis has been averted! Thankfully Krista was able to piece together the things I remembered about my partner – pretty much everything except her name – and one thing I remembered identified her immediately. I am so relieved, I can’t even tell you.

I can rest easy tonight.

These look great, Carol! I love the colours and I recognize some of Cynthia’s fabric in there! Glad you were able to solve the mystery of your swap partner with Krista’s help.
