Prairie points

Mike’s work schedule has changed and he is now getting up at (oof) 5:30 am. I started getting up early (but not that early) so I could get some sewing in the morning before heading off to work. I even made dinner this morning so all we needed to do was heat it up tonight. It’s only been 2 days, but I have to admit, going to bed early and getting up early feels pretty good.

This morning I started making these prairie points for bunting – Thanks Cynthia for the link! – for the Modern Quilt Guild meeting next week. I’m calling it the Conga Line bunting because it’s got dancers on some of the triangles. This is an EASY pattern – all you do is cut, fold, iron and sew. And repeat. Very relaxing first thing in the AM. I’m not quite done yet, I just need to sew the that double folded binding tape along the top to cover up the edges and THEN I’m finished.

I’m slowly learning how to start things earlier. It’s nice. There’s no panic or rushing. It really makes projects go a little smoother.

So that’s why people start things early. Who knew?
