I just have to say right off the top – BEST. LUNCH. EVENT. EVER. Why? It was a fundraiser for the Vancouver Food Bank called Compassion into Action. There were fancy organic products for sale, along with organic local fruits and veggies. You could buy them individually OR buy a bag for $30 and fill it with as much stuff as you could get in there. All the money collected will go to the Vancouver Food Bank. I filled the bag with cereal, granola bars and soy chai tea drinks.

There was a cookbook in there, too. I’ll be trying out some of those recipes. They had a lot of organic apples (we’re good for apples) but I picked up a bag of cherries, some pears and a bunch of apricots. The people in my office had fruit snacks in the afternoon. There was plenty to go around.
And after all that, lunch was available. I picked the corn chowder and some acai berry juice. The juice was so delicious I picked up a coupon to get some more. I forgot that organic food tastes really, really good. The flavours are strong and I’m pretty sure that’s how food is supposed to taste.
I didn’t eat the pumpkin.
This was a great event – I only wished I had been there for breakfast. I got a lot done on today’s lunch hour – I went grocery shopping, ate lunch, took photos and even helped some people. That was a delicious lunch hour well spent.
