Happy Thanksgiving!

I was barefoot in the kitchen all day today. I didn’t realize it was going to take quite so long to make tarts, but man…I ended up making 12, and then ran out of muffin tins, so I had to make a pie anyway because there was so much pumpkin filling leftover. Oh noes! Too much pumpkin pie! I didn’t realize there was such a thing.

Actually, there isn’t.

Even though I need to work on my timing – part of the dinner was cooler than other parts – dinner was pretty tasty. The kitties enjoyed their Thanksgiving turkey and we all lounged around after the big meal and watched Breaking Amish. I am full. Too bad the kitchen looks like this:

and this:

You can’t really tell that I was cleaning as I went. I can only imagine what the place would look like if I hadn’t. The dishwasher will be running a few times tonight, that’s for sure.

I’m trying not to think about the upcoming week. On Thursday is the portfolio show for the most recent graduating class at the school I work at. Oof. I realized this weekend that I have been really worried for WEEKS about 2 hours. The first two hours of the show is when the employers come to see the graduates’ work. After that, friends and family are welcome to attend. Hopefully I have invited enough people from industry so that we get a good turn out. We’ll find out on Thursday.

Ugh.

Time to think about something else…like cleaning the kitchen and making this black cat paper piecing project. I actually started making that! And I think I’ll be able to put it together. I’ve got a few sections done, so I think I’m getting the hang of this type of quilting.
