My mom sent me a message last week about a surprise making it’s way to me in an envelope from Calgary. I love surprises in envelopes! And knitted ones, at that. My Grandma’s been hanging out at my mom & sister’s place and knitting and knitting and knitting. She knitted me a cute little tan hat with all kinds of fancy cabling. I put it on as soon as I came home from work, wore it while we ate dinner and wore it out tonight. I’m going to wear it to work tomorrow, too. It’s beautiful, warm and my grandma made it.
And in other travels, I got this year’s 2010 Year of the Tiger stamp, but they only had international stamps. They sold out of the local Canadian tiger stamps. There is something so much more exciting about a tiger than an ox. Poor old ox – doing all that grunt work and getting no respect at all. But a tiger! Mysterious, cool and powerful. And aggressive when necessary or threatened. I guess that’s the oxen’s downfall – no sex appeal whatsoever. Poor guy.

Your new hat is lovely – it looks so soft & warm. Your Grandma has talent and I see now where you get your knitting skills. I will check our post office here to see if I can get you a Canadian Year of the Tiger stamp.
Gorgeous hat- I bet it’s nice and cozy and warm!
And I saw those stamps at our PO, somebody was asking about the Canadian ones but the were all gone too.
I got to touch the hat last night. It is sooooooo soft. And it is that shiny. Lovely hat. Your gramma rocks. : )
