We went to the Olympic Oval in Richmond tonight to watch the Bladezillas play hockey. Other than the other team being late and the Bladezillas losing in the last 30 seconds of the game, we had an enjoyable time. Our buddy & neighbour scored a hat trick tonight, so that was awesome. Also awesome? The venue.
I’ve never been inside the Olympic Oval before. It is an incredible example of architecture. The ceiling is all wood and, apparently, pennies. Someone told me that. Also, the lighting was lovely in there. I recommend everyone get married there – in the space between the ice rinks and the basketball hoops.
But back to hockey…the guys had a tough game tonight.
My favourite photos to take are when the game’s just finished and the guys are taking off their helmets and are looking pretty tired or relieved that the game is over. Since tonight was not the best ending for a game, I didn’t take too many of those this time. I’ve heard there are times when people don’t like to get their photos taken. I rarely listen to that type of advice. But I did tonight.
Another reason why hockey is hard? They start playing SO LATE. 10:30 at night. I don’t know how they do it night after night. I’m worn out after one late night game.
