Our buddy, Paul, picked us up at our hotel in Whitby today and took us on an whirlwind tour through downtown Old Toronto (I think that’s what it’s called). Why the quick tour? We had to get through Toronto to get to his home in Brampton, where we met his fiancĂ©e, her son and their new dog. Paul did a bang up job of the tour and took us to the spots we absolutely needed to see. As we drove into town, we saw the CN Tower (we’ll be visiting it up close on Monday.)
Next up, we drove down Gerard Street very close to the street cars to get a great photoshoot I’ll save for tomorrow. But in the meantime, we were this close to the street cars:

So weird. There’s no special area just for this public transportation. It just shares the road with the cars. CRAZY.
Gerard Street was also home to a very vandalized ice freezer:
Next on the agenda, a quick stop to the *cough, cough* Maple Leaf Gardens. It was heavily under construction with scaffolding all over it, except this part.
And from there, we drove past the CN Tower…
And took the highway to Brampton to Paul’s place. We had our first BBQ of the day, hung out and chit chatted for a couple of hours before we had to head back to Whitby. But before we left, I got this photo of Paul and his new puppy.
It was a good time with Paul’s soon-to-be-family. Paul was an excellent tour guide.
On a side note: it’s really busy here, the volume of traffic is amazing, and I feel like we live in a small town.
