Maybe I will.

Diamond pieces

Ever since I bought the magazine that Lysa was published in last month – Patchwork & Quilting, Issue 17 – I’ve had this package of diamond shapes just sitting in my sewing room in their package. Every time I see them, I think I want to do something with them. My buddy, Cathy, has been making a hexagon quilt by hand using this method and it’s getting bigger and bigger and pretty soon, it will be big enough for at least a queen size quilt. She is making the hexagons whenever she’s watching TV and it’s added up quickly. I was thinking if I did this while commuting AND watching TV, I could have a lovely handmade quilt in a few months. I’ll have to make a lot of diamond templates. And I’ve got a HUGE amount of scraps that I can dig into. I know I start a lot of things, but I do want to see if I can make a quilt of stars like this. I totally could. And I could use white AND grey in between the colours. I can also sort out my scraps in colours so that I can match the stars. I think I can do this! It will be slow going. But I think I can get a lot done on the skytrain.

And for no reason at all. Here’s a picture of Oscar.

Just because.

And you can reuse the templates, just don’t pin through them. I’ve heard cereal type boxes make good templates too! Don’t curse me when your hooked!
