*For those of you who don’t enjoy photos of feet, I apologize in advance. This post is very feet-heavy*
This afternoon I fulfilled my dream of getting a pedicure at the best named beauty salon in the whole city. Today I stopped at VietNails after dropping Mike off at work. Huzzah! I learned 2 important things:
1) The first thing you do when you walk into the salon is pick a bottle of nail polish off the wall. You do that before anything – before you say hello, or, “I’d like a pedicure, please.”. PICK YOUR COLOUR.
2) If your flip flops are too thick and they may mess up the new paint job on your toes trying to put them on your feet, they give you a pair of disposable shoes! Incredible! I ended up wearing mine to the grocery store. Better safe than sorry when it comes to keeping your fresh manicure smear-free.
That was an hour well spent and I love shiny blue toes.
Once I got home, I sat down on the floor, trying to find a different angle to show off my clean (and nice smelling) feet. I did not realize my blue toenails would act as kitty lures. Donner was very interested, even with my camera in my hands. Usually he just closes his eyes whenever I show up with the big flash, but not in this instance. EEK! Way to chum Donner for a photo.
Donner has all his claws, so this felt like a dangerous photoshoot. I’m happy to tell you that I was able to leave this scenario uninjured. Donner kept his claws (mostly) to himself, but was very gentle.
I think next time I’ll pick the black polish and see if I can get them to put a kitty face on my big toe. Or maybe orange and have a jack-o-lantern face put on it. Oh yah.

i totally want to get a pedicure sometime, i’ve never done it. my toes are naked right now, and frankly it’s weirding me out! my toe nails need to be red or else they just feel wrong…
YAY!!!!!! FINALLY Vietnails!!!! So jealous. that’s ok, now we know the routine to follow (PICK YOUR COLOUR!) for when I come visit and we go to Vietnails! (and bring a certain pedicure-phobe with us

Yippee!! Vietnails- I think we need a field trip there! I faced my fears of having a pedicure once and it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be.
I bet Donner could smell the polish, Bucky used to do stuff like that too in his younger days. He loves hand lotion too, whenever I use it he comes running so I put a tiny tiny bit on his arm & sniffs it then licks it- for real! Maybe Donner wants a mani/pedi too!
