We were invited to Heather’s mom’s house for Thanksgiving dinner and we got to celebrate today! Hooray! Technically, Thanksgiving isn’t until Monday, so we got to celebrate early. And it was delicious! So much food. Heather’s mom spoiled us. Dinner was delish and the desserts? Amazing. She made a pumpkin cheesecake with a gingersnap crust. HEAVEN.
We had lots of laughs and made some new friends tonight. It was a lovely evening all around.
And my contribution? After lots of researching/looking at a lot of pinterest pages, and nearly making some kind of crazy brussels sprouts dip that seemed a bit complicated and had a gazillion ingredients, it suddenly dawned on me, “Hey. Why don’t I make my mom’s favourite cheeseball recipe?”. It took all of 20 minutes to make and seemed to be enjoyed by everyone. I just rolled them into nut logs. Heh. Nut logs.
Speaking of nut logs.
Anyway, we are being very social this weekend and tomorrow we’re at a wedding. Fall wedding! At Granville Island. That should be very lovely.
After tonight’s big feast, I really don’t need much for food tomorrow. Hopefully the wedding food will be similar to the last wedding we went to – a bunch of tiny portions of foods. Someone told me that’s called, “heavy grazing” at events. SNORT. In any event, I will hopefully be doing some light grazing and that’s about it.
I am so full right now.
