Oscar’s been up and at ’em since pretty much since he had breakfast this morning. He must have been starving because he wasn’t able to eat at all yesterday (Doctor’s orders). He’s had naps and stuff, but mostly the little guy has been following us around the house or hanging out in his little kitty condo. You can see his shaved little chicken leg in this photo. They had to shave his leg for his IV during his operation.
All was going well up until I tested out the good old Farmer’s Almanac trick about putting dried peach pits in the fire for a lovely smell sensation. The two pits pretty much exploded in the fireplace and gave us all a heart attack in the process. So, unless you’re camping with a big bonfire going and you want to make people think you’re shooting off guns, I would NOT recommend throwing dried peach pits in your living room fireplace. I don’t think it helped the convalescing cat, either. At this rate, I’m sure the vet is going to take our cat ownership privileges away. Sheesh.
But, no fear, the photo above was taken after the whole peach pit incident. He’s getting better and better every hour.
See! All your comments? It’s making him better! Thanks, guys! And Oscar thanks you as well.

Glad he’s up and about. Speaking of peach pits you might just do a google on peach pits and cyanide.
