In the last nearly 12 years, Mike and I have gone through 2 couches. I’m not sure why we can’t make a couch last. I think my mom and dad had the same couch for over 30 years. Remember our most recent couch casualty? Our futon mattress pushed up against the wall?
Today is new day – a happy day! We got a great new couch. Hurrah! And it flattens out to be a bed, so that guests are able to sleep in style instead of on the floor on a lumpy futon mattress. Our first guest of honour? My sister! (Mom gets the craft room.) I’m gearing up for Mom and and C@thy to come out for their annual summer visit in just a couple of weeks.
This summer is shaping up to be pretty busy for us. Don’t tell my Grandma, but we’re planning a big surprise for her birthday in September. I won’t say too much more other than we’re going to Toronto and taking her to watch her favourite baseball team. So. Much. Fun.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! New couch! That couch looks SUPER comfy too. It looks like a dream couch.
Also can’t wait for SEPTEMBER!!! Yippee!!!!
Yes. Couch. Good.
That is very smart looking and comfy too.
Ah, furniture. My couch is from my Grandmother. She said her mother-in-law brought it ’round the horn. Dad didn’t think so. He thought his Granny bought it in the depression of 1897 in New Westminster. (I could easily have the year wrong.) Anyway – Very Old Couch: Heavy as Hades. If new couches wear out that fast, perhaps I ought to be grateful for that Victorian Behemoth.
