Yesterday after work, I had to meet a buddy, but I had some time before meeting her, so I hiked down the new Convention Centre to see the pixely whale. I had seen it under construction, and then Kelaine sent me an article about it – and the whale was completely completed. Thankfully the rain had stopped for a few hours and I was able to enjoy the view of the water and all the big fluffy clouds. I think a little bit of sun peaked out, but quickly retreated so we were back to being rained on today. It’s been raining for a few weeks now, and many of us are ready for the summer.
After going to tea with my buddy, I had to go to the grocery store for tonight’s dinner party. I picked the ingredients up last night and rolled into our place at 11:00. I got up this morning and made some chicken taco filling in the crockpot and whipped together some coleslaw. It was a big hit! I’m big into coleslaw in sandwiches these days – I’m a big cabbage lover for some reason. I think it’s the crunchiness.
Dinner went over well, and dessert was fine – but I didn’t mind the chocolate well enough and it burned in some spots. Even so, the fondue was yummy and we ate piles of fruit.
I have lots more photos to post. But I’ll have to do that later. Right now, I’m going to bed.

Wow, that whale is really tripping me out. My eyes are going all wonky. =)
That’s so cool! Thanks for sharing Carol – I would never get to see these things if it wasn’t for you.
I wonder what it looks like if you’re viewing it from a plane.
I should book a Harbour Air flight and take photos from above that way. Excellent idea. The sculpture looks way better from a distance. All my close up shots look, well, like a bunch of squares. Go figure.
I am not sure that I like it. What did you think of it, Carol?
I like how lego-y it is as well as the greater idea of pixellization. Living in a digital world, pixellizing things that are censored, virtualness vs reality. It just brings up a bunch of ideas.
I totally think you should do the harbour air thang. Can you write that off as part of your research?
