Treats from afar…

Huzzah to me! I wrote my tale of whoa on my blog about how I killed 2 sets of lupines in our front yard garden. My blog friend from Portland, Oregon, Happy Zombie, read about my terrible gardening skills and offered me some more lupines – maybe I’d have better luck with them this time. I received them today in the mail along with the cutest little needle book shown above. Inside are “pages” of felt and you store your needles and fancy pins in it. She even embroidered on the cherries. So. Cute. Thank you, Monica (that’s her name!). It looks like the one package of lupines are perennials and will be ready to go in a year or so, so I’d better get planting. The other ones look like they may bloom this year, if I’m lucky! I really hope the third time’s the charm. I will keep you posted. Thanks, Happy Zombie. I’m stoked.

Today I was also loaned a real, live, Vuvuzela all the way from South Africa.

Here’s a peak at this amazing instrument:

This is only the beginning of the World Cup Soccer music maker. I have plans to show how to play it “properly” and to have it on display while an assortment of people wear fancy head gear along with the blue horn. All very exciting AND newsworthy.

And they say bloggers aren’t journalists. Pshaw!

and that little horn is why football/soccer fans are crazy … i tried to watch a game the other day but the constant buzz drove me away … to experience it live would make me all crazy-like!

YEAY… so glad they came (and USPS/CP didn’t snag the seeds). I wasn’t sure which pack worked for me, so I got you both. And just in case you could get those seeds in Vanc., I added a little *sewing seeds*. If I sent packages like a normal person, all pretty and wrapped nice… with cute little note cards to explain things… then I would have told you that. And I’m stoked that you’re stoked. Mutual stokeration. [Well, that sounded good until I typed it out.]

And now 50 million bees are buzzing in my head – just looking at Vuvuzela makes my head feel like it’s in a bee hive.

That is way cool. Good luck with the lupins.
I am sure the music made by Vuvuzela’s is just amazing. (?!)
