He stole my bike!

As Constable Bailey was rolling out the department’s recycling for the week in their brand new recycling bin (Yes. This was today’s prize in the box marked #13. So Advent-y) Chef BBQ Bill came running up up to Zuzu all in tizzy!

“The, the, the Bandit…that dancing guy! He stole my bike!” said BBQ Bill “We just saw him! He stole my bike! He just took it right in front of me and rode off really fast! We couldn’t stop him!”

Zuzu put down the recycling bin 3 feet away from the curb* as instructed by the recycling people. “Sheesh.” Zuze thought to herself, “Those guys and their rules.”

Zuzu pulled out her notepad and started writing. “Bill, I want to get through this quickly so you can make it to your BBQ competition. You have to get there to make your amazing beans!”

Bill agreed. “Me, too, Zuze. This is what happened. I was leaving the house to get to the competition and the brazen bandit just ran up and stole my bike right in front of me! ”

“What’s the make of your bike?” Zuze asked

“It’s a Playmobil VPS – top of the line. It’s a mountain bike with a red frame and black handlebars. And the best part? A red seat. I’m so sad, Zuzu.”

Zuze asked, “Are you sure it was the man on the poster I showed you?”

“Yes! He was wearing the same hat and everything. And Dieter saw him as well. He recognized him because he saw him dancing on the lamp post the other day.” Bill assured Zuzu.

“Okay, Bill. I have all the info I need. We’ll get your bike back. Now, I’m going to make sure you get to the competition on time. Get into my p0lice car with Rocky and we’ll drive over really fast with the sirens and lights on, okay?”

And that is why the community loved Zuzu. She was always helping out. Little did they know how much she loved those baked beans.

*In a strange coincidence, the residents of Burnaby were just issued giant garbage bins exactly like these. We just started using them on November 23rd. I love them – they are like mini-dumpsters. Thank you, City of Burnaby.

I was going to laugh at the relative lameness of getting a garbage can in your Advent calendar, but then I got to the footnote and realized what a marvelous convergence of real life and Playmobil this day’s prize really was. That’s amazing!

I wonder what would have been in the box if you hadn’t just gotten new garbage cans… Spooky.

this advent calendar better not take a “criminal minds” turn … if there’s a foot or a finger in that garbage can, i think a strongly worded email to playmobil will be needed.

I am so glad you like your new blue garbage can.
*** I am at work. I am laughing so hard, I am in danger of wetting myself. My lunch is nearly over and I am not succeeding at controlling myself. ***

So. Lets try this again.
I am driving home Sunday night, following a white little station wagon. It has a fish with words in it (not a salamander) on the right hand middle of the flap down door. On the opposite side of the closed door, at the bottom, near the bumper is a hand.

Now I don’t know a lot about the fish thing, but it seems a little incongurent to me. So. I am with Michelle on the ‘strongly worded e-mail to Playmobile’.

I am sure Bill thinks it is the red bike seat that got him the ride in the cruser.
