Joy sat in her fancy hotel room – it was actually a suite – on a lovely fainting couch, watching the great big flat screen TV and ate bonbons.
She had been there for a couple of weeks now and was enjoying the room service, the shopping trips and the visit with her family over at Holt Renfrews. Today all she had on her agenda was a spa day – a mud wrap, massage, manicure and pedicure. She wouldn’t be going into the steam room or the warm bath treatments. She was a snowlady after all.
She flicked the channels on the big TV to watch The Maury show. Joy yelled to the TV, “Come on! You know you are the baby daddy!” She just loved daytime TV. She couldn’t wait to watch Dr. Phil next. Would today be the day he says, “It’s like trying to nail jello to a wall!”?
“I sure hope so!” thought Joy to herself while chewing a nutty chocolate.
Just then, she heard sirens from outside.
“I wonder what’s going on down there?” she looked out the window to see:
“What the?!!” Joy thought, “It can’t be…I didn’t…what is going on?”
“Come out with your hands up!” Sergeant Batista’s voice blared through is bullhorn, “We know you’re in there, Joy! We have the building surrounded! Come out peacefully and you will not be harmed!”
Rocky barked with excitement, eager to run in and grab a bad guy. With his teeth.
Just then the door to her suite was kicked open by a SWAT Team. She immediately dropped her bonbons and raised her hands in the air. The SWAT team lowered their rifles and radioed in, “We got her Sarge!”
They put the handcuffs on her and began the long walk of shame down the hall. Joy stoically walked, staring straight ahead.
“How did you find me?” Joy asked stiffly.
“Anonymous tip, ma’am” the officer replied.
“Who’s the rat?” Joy wondered. “Who did this to me?”
