Please note: if you don’t like scary clowns, I don’t think you’ll like this photo:
The lawn pig is back and better than ever! If you’re not familiar with the lawn pig, he’s a pink pig statue that lives on a neighbour’s lawn just up the street from us. I asked the owner of the house why she had this statue in her yard and she told me, “He came with the house when we moved in. We decided to keep him!” In past Halloweens, they’ve dressed him up as Batman, and as the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. One Valentine’s Day the decked him out full of hearts.
Today is shaping up to be a busy day. I’ve been invited to attend a Buddhist Hungry Ghost Ceremony in Vancouver and then tonight, we’ll be heading over to the Sauriol’s again to see the kiddie-winkies all dressed up.
It’s shaping up to be a great photo day.
Also, it’s totally NOT creepy for me to be taking photos on the neighbour’s lawn at 6:55 am in the dark. It really isn’t. I had my LED light on and everything.

We are amused
Not sure why it’s funny, it just is.
That is awesome! Everyone should have a pig they can dress up
I agree! We should make Lawn Pigs mandatory for every home in North America!!!
I love that the neighbours have adopted the pig. I have a vague idea the pig is about prosperity. He reminds me of the Pig at Bouchart Gardens, who is a replica of some Famous Italian Pig. The Pink Pig seems a well loved pig, very social, who loves celebrations.
While I don’t believe everyone should have a pig per say, I do agree that everyone should have Something Different. Part of the pink pig’s charm to me is that he is unique in his neighbourhood. The next neighbour could have a blue mongoose or something. … Now, what am I going to have?
