As we were driving to Bec’s place for the pumpkin carving party:

Mike: So, they don’t have ANYTHING like Halloween in Australia?

Me: Nope. Nothing. This is totally new to them. Weird, I know. It’s like they’re from space or something.

For their first tries, they did a great job. Here’s the whole pack of jack-o-lanterns:

Out of all 7 pumpkins, 4 were made by the Australian crew.

After the jump, you can see their award winning jack-o-lanterns. They are all pose-y with the finished product.

The winner of the best sad-faced jack-o-lantern – Charmaine:

The winner of the best use of the shaving-off-the-skin-of-the-pumpkin so the light shines through the pumpkin skin – that would be Bec:

Best use of the Star of David – Michelle:

She also gets best pumpkin teeth. Those star teeth are magnificent! Way to go Michelle.

And the best likeness of himself goes to Will:

Honestly, how did he do that? His pumpkin looks just like him. Is it the hat? The eyebrows? I’m not sure. But it is amazing. Will worked very hard on his pumpkin – he even used a nail file at one point to get his pumpkin looking just right.

I have a few other shots to share as well and will be posting them throughout the week. This is, after all, Halloween week. A very, very exciting time around these parts.

Mike and brought our pumpkins home with us and they will be used in a photoshoot with Oscar. That should be fun.

Bec’s had a cold sore. She removed the Herpes well. She should be a surgeon.
