This is just what I needed after watching Shark Week last night – where I watched footage of a man’s calf actually being bitten off by a bull shark. And then today, we watched some episodes of people climbing Mount Everest and saw what frost bite looks like. Oof. I needed some fake blood and guts to cleanse the palette after all that reality TV.
Today was the Zombie Walk downtown at the Vancouver Art Gallery. There was a mammoth crowd today. I haven’t been for a couple of years, so the increase was very noticeable.

Packed! With zombies and lookie-loos like me! I never get dressed up for these things, but I did wear my Edgar Allen Poe shirt that says, “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” and someone did get some fake blood on my shorts, so I sort of fit in.
While at this event, I saw the world’s ugliest baby:

I found a zombie dad & daughter:

The dad actually looks familiar to me. If anyone knows who these two are, please let me know.
And, I found another zombie baby. A real, live, zombie baby with her mom.

Wow. I wonder what their house is like? The Munsters’ place? Or maybe their style is more steampunk, oldie time doctors office? It’s really hard to tell with zombie people.
I found Leatherface – but I don’t think Leatherface is a zombie, but more like a human monster. Either way, this costume is pretty amazing.

And while I was walking back to the car, I spotted this guy:

He’s a video game character. I’d give this guy the “Best Dressed” award. The similarity is eery. He looks exactly like the illustration.
Spooky.
More photos here if you like zombies, bloody things, people with cameras, and girls with rainbow hair spitting out gooey stuff.

Great set Carol.
Wow, looks like it was an interesting day, lots of great (creepy) imagination! Great photos, Carol!
There was also an animal convention downtown today. We saw several cosplayers. Did you catch any of them?
