I marched right off the bus, down the street, into the house after work and just started carving. I was not wasting any time tonight. I had to get one Halloween photo for tonight! I just had to. It took me 2 hours to carve this pumpkin. I counted 21 cuts – wait, make that about 30. I cut the top off the pumpkin with a jaggedy edge. And I even used an electric knife to get the job done faster. It really didn’t help and after a few cuts, the knife started to smell funny – I think the pumpkin was too thick and it was too much for the tiny motor in the knife. It also slipped a little from the wetness of the pumpkin, and I thought it best to put it away and not risk some kind of wound from pumpkin carving. I’m sure the emergency rooms are full of people with cuts and punctures from this festive activity.
Thank goodness I did not have a workplace accident today. I’m satisfied with the results of my kitty pumpkin, and it looks pretty good all lit up! Just to spice things up a little bit, I attached my lensbaby to my new camera and it’s more lightweight than ever.
I think I’ll take all my Halloween photos tomorrow with the lensbaby and the star insert. it will be a good challenge.
I don’t have a costume for tomorrow, but I will be wearing the chicken hat tomorrow to school. I can’t wait to see how many people will be wearing bowties like Psy. Gangnam Style!

Great job on the pumpkin! You better ask Santa for a Dremmel set of power detailing tools . I know somebody who uses those power tools to carve pumpkins and the results are just amazing. Not to mention safer. I’ve had more than a few cuts from pumpkin carving.
Happy Hallowe’en!!! Love your kitty pumpkin & the starry lens baby- so cool!!
