After taking photos today at the Zombie Walk, I’m pretty sure this could be the last time I attend such an event. It was tough going today and I felt my enthusiasm for taking photos at events disappearing. Even though I don’t want to admit this, I don’t like taking photos where there are a bunch of other people taking photos. Or maybe it’s just that I don’t like it when I can’t find a spot where there aren’t hundreds of people taking photos every where I turn. Even for me, the amount of people bashing into me and walking in front of me was incredibly obnoxious. I believe there were more people taking photos than there were people dressed up as zombies. For example, people like this:
So… I gave up and just shot through all the people around me. Good thing I like how that technique looks (i.e. blurry stuff around the edges). Also, some of my favourite photos of the day have a soft focus.
Not in focus at all, but I love it.
This one isn’t even close to being in focus. But still…
I did end up getting some fun close up shots, though. I used my long lens today and I found I’ve missed it! I’ve been using my 50mm so much, I forgot I can get close up from a distance.
I did love all the thought and care the people put into their costumes for this walk. As per usual, many of the walkers went all out for this event.
I feel like I can’t even breathe looking at that one.
Plenty more photos here for your viewing pleasure! Enjoy!
