On the water

I went over to a small event this afternoon over in one of the fancy hotels on the water. The event was not too interesting to me, unfortunately. I wish I had headed over to LiveCity in Yaletown instead, but I took a chance and ended with enough time to check out The Rings. So, I made my way over to the cauldron. The fence has been moved quite a bit closer to the giant fire sculpture.

And it was a little bit rainy today, so the city was dotted with umbrellas and these rain ponchos.

You Gotta Be Here. Indeed.

So again, no night shots. Hmmm…I’m not sure if I’ll venture downtown tomorrow for that or not. We decided to watch the hockey at home tonight instead of staying downtown. I just wasn’t up for the big long wait to get on the transit to get home. And I have a true confession – I’m kind of losing steam…

But on the bright side, on my skytrain ride to meet up with Mike, I:

1) was on the train car with a guy with a cowbell. So we all cheered “Team Canada!” until he got off the train.

2) overheard a rumour from a very reliable source, I’m sure. Two complete strangers behind me on the train heard that “Neil Young will be singing at the Closing Ceremonies on Sunday.”

You heard it here first, unless you were on the train with me and I didn’t see you there. If that’s the case, then I’m just spreading rumours about the Closing Ceremonies.

I’m pooped. I’m sure Olympic fatigue is a real disorder.

The sad thing about the whole country losing steam is that the paralympics are next week and they just dont get the same level of support…

I think we’ll try to get to some paralympic events. I kind of want to see sledge hockey.

Transit rumors are the best!

I took photos of the paralympic medals (they were on display with the other medals) and have been saving them until their games start on March 12th. There are a few of us at work who have plans to go to some of the games, so I will definitely be taking part in that event.

I am sure that is the best shot of the Flame out of all the media shots, you made it look cool.

Those are excellent shots. I am sure you are tired. That is heavy coverage for a girl with a full time job!
