“Well, I have to go. I’ve got to get ready for a fashion show tonight.” I said to Monica this afternoon. I must admit, I never, ever thought I’d say those words. Ever. I decided to wear a black skirt and a purple shirt, headed over to the Museum of Vancouver and asked for Fred at the front table. “He’s waiting for me.” I said. Heh. The person tracked down Fred and he grabbed my hand and took me back to the dressing area. There were people getting their hair and make up done, and, as I had hoped, a couple of dudes in their underpants. I showed restraint and didn’t take their photos.
“Do you have your camera?” Fred asked me.
“Yup.” I answered.
“Okay, I need you to take photos of my entire collection as they come down the runway.”
“I can’t do that. I need a press pass for that.”
Fred took his pass off his neck and gave it to me. “Here. Take mine. But I need it back after the show. It’s my souvenir.” It said, “Designer” on it. But I took it and headed into the dress rehearsal.
It suddenly dawned on me I would be taking photos at a fashion show! Holy crap! I’ve never done that before. Thankfully, on the way to drop Mike off at work today, we were listening to Will Farrell talk about being too nervous to go on stage at comedy shows and just sitting in the back and not performing. What? Buddy the Elf was afraid? With this information fresh in my mind, I hopped into the pit and, well, chit-chatted with a couple of the other photographers around me. Here’s the pit.

First rule of being in the pit? No one wears purple shirts. Their outfits were all black. I’ll have to get some black shirts PRONTO. Photographers were all around me with big cameras and huge flashes. I did my best to fit in. I talked about prime lenses with a dude named Mark.
The room started filling up with fancy dressed people, like this lady.
I have lots of photos to show you of the fashion show within the fashion show. Actually, I have a lot of photos of this evening – nearly 500. I’ll start out with a couple of Fred’s collection. His collection was summer/beach wear. I love how the pattern looks like the Union Jack flag.
And, of course, the speedo swim suit.
Bikini wear? Very nice!
I also really like the guy’s face behind the model.
SNORT!
Many more photos to follow. I really enjoyed this adventure. I wish there was a fashion show every day.

lol I like the faces of the 2 people in front of that guy in the bkgd!
(I hope it wasn’t just sprung on you when you arrived that you were doing this was it?)
I like how he strategically used the yellow stripes in both outfits to highlight the models’ crotches. *wink*
