I attended two art shows tonight. The first one was an impromptu art show by Malcolm. Due to a failure to communicate, Malcolm came over tonight to see Mike, but Mike was at work. Luckily I came home in time to find him hanging out by our front door, wondering where the heck everyone went.
Malcolm and I had some coffee and he showed me his race car photos. Just in case you’re not friends with Malcolm, you need to know that he LOVES racing, especially those fancy sprint cars. He’s been taking photos at races all summer long and people have been buying them. Good news for Malcolm! He took the photo above and had it blown up to poster size. It turned out really, really, well. And I have to tell you, Malcolm was as proud as punch with his poster photo.
He’d never say it, but just look at that face.
A little bit pleased, right? Right! Well done, Mr. White!
After my surprise coffee visit with Malcolm, I headed over to an art show called the Lab Art Show. There was so much to see – framed photos, all sorts of paintings, a live band was playing, and there was body painting.
I think she’s nekkid under that paint. Whoa! Risque! Her back was also in the process of being painted.
Too bad I couldn’t stay longer to see her completely painted up.
Upstairs there was more artwork, including this large carpet of old gift cards all pieced together with zip ties.
This is the artist who created this cool piece.
It was displayed on a big light table and looked awesome all lit up from underneath.
What a lovely evening I’ve had! I am completely surrounded by creative people and beautiful items they have made.
So. Awesome.
