Actual works in progress!

They’re not much to look at now, but I’m making progress on some pouches I need to have ready for this week or next. I may have to go to the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild’s meeting to get them in on time for the swap – we’re swapping them with the quilt guild in Portland, Oregon. I’ve been taking my time working on them and I like how they look so far. I just don’t want to mess them up. Now comes the tough parts – one needs a snap and the other needs a zipper. I’ve kind of hit the breaks with a screeching halt.

Tomorrow I’ll start making those big additions and hope for the best. On the plus side, I did figure out how to quilt on small projects. One of my quilting buddies, Jean, told me she never quilts free motion – she only quilts straight stitch. Then I found a pattern where they did that exact type of stitching on the small project, and voila! It really works! There’s no bunching or scrunching or pulling. Hooray! It looks flat and clean. FINALLY.

I’ll keep at it and hope I can keep this trend of flat and clean going. Zipper stress and snap stress! YIKES!

I’ll fight through it.

Hey very nice!!! You can do it- zippers are easy, just take your time. And yes! If you can bring them tomorrow we’d love to see! 😀
