Just like a time capsule that Geraldo opened.

Remember when Geraldo Rivera opened up Al Capone’s Vault, only to find it empty? I had the same experience with an old roll of film I picked up yesterday. I had a few photos left to take on the roll and used them at Lysa’s place when we sewed outside on her deck. I remember that day! It was sunny and warm. Oh, how I miss that day. It’s been raining daily since that fine day in May. And guess what? It’s raining right now! But I’ll stop talking about it because that’s what it’s like living in Vancouver. As a couple of my buddies said today, “It’s good weather if you’re a slug.”

In the mystery roll of film from my Diana F+ (it’s a toy camera), I found photos from a photo walk from last fall with Lelainia. I must have taken this photo of the city that same day. If I remember correctly, it was a sunny day, so it makes sense I got a nicely exposed and mostly focused photo of the city that day.

I recognized the pretty fall foliage from that same photowalk and selected this photo of the leaves as one of my favourites.

I used the “telephoto” lens for all these photos and they work the best for subjects off in the distance and if you keep the subject mostly in the middle of the lens.

Thankfully, one of the photos that turned out included sewing machines! Hoorah!

I’m so glad I go the umbrella stand in focus!

I think more practice is needed.

Hmmm…I keep saying that. So I’d better actually do it.

I have two rolls of film in the fridge that pre-date digital in this house. I got my first digital about six years ago. Some day I’ll pay to see if anything is on them!

Gosh! Doesn’t that seem like a lifetime ago? That was the day you pushed the button! I love the first photo-the blue is pretty and the blue sky. Can’t wait for our trip to the cemetary!
