I’ve been seeing these mailboxes all around town. I love how they’re decorated with a variety of postal codes from across Canada. And they look just as cool in sepia.
Well. I got to see the new Mel (Sugar Tits) Gibson movie with Cathy Mechanic. And I can gladly recommend this movie to my sister and my mom. They will love it! A movie about c0ps, corrupt government AND business owners, and dirty politicians. Oh wait. I nearly forgot the VENGEANCE! It’s kind of like those Charles Bronson movies where the bad guys kill the whole family and he spends the rest of the movie getting his revenge – Death Wish. So if you like that kind of thing, you will most likely enjoy this movie. It was a bit too shmultzy for me, plus I don’t enjoy movies that are deliberately trying to teach me a lesson. I prefer just to watch the story and judge for myself. I will give props for 2 scenes where something really unexpected happened and was hugely startling – like jump out of your seat startling. Both scenes were rather unpleasant (AKA gory and gross) however, since I had no idea it would happen, I have to say I was truly surprised by both scenes. You have to see it to see what I mean. There was even a happy ending (of sorts) for the movie.
Please note: Mel Gibson did a good job of his Bawston accent. I completely believed it.
Please note #2: He never said “Sugar Tits” in this movie. Not even once. Very disappointing.
Please note #3: I miss the days when he was on Saturday Night Live as the Dream Gynecologist.

They say this is the movie that will resurrect Mel Gibson’s career. Do you think this is true?
i see 2 nova scotia postal codes! my favourite of all time is the old banff postal code (it’s since been changed) … t0l oco … to loco … crazy. anyway … “sugar tits” was the first thing that came to my mind when mel was on the golden globes … given the cleavage factor at that event, though, if he said it, it would have been more of an observation than an insult.
B4V is Bridgewater. I don’t see that there and, really, why should it be?
I think it could, atomicpoet. While the story and writing weren’t Oscar worthy, I have to say he did a good job of being the lead in this movie. I also found it interesting that he didn’t have any producing credits or directing credits. This was an acting only film for him.
Who knew I would cry at a Mel Gibson movie???
