While waiting for the bus outside of the Chanel Boutique to go home after work tonight, I noticed a bit of movement right in front of me. I looked down to see a fat brown rat run right across my foot. It then turned around and rat across the sidewalk and under a parked police van.
Yup. You read that correctly. A rat ran across my foot as I was waiting for the bus! EWWWW! The people standing next to me looked shocked as I screamed (like a little girl, I might add) and saw the furry creature scurry off under the vehicle in front of us.
Me: EEEKKK! That rat just ran right across my foot!
Bystander number 1: Where did that come from?
Me: I don’t know, it seemed to come from under that van. EWW.
Bystander number 2: Oh gross. I’d scream, too.
Me: Oh God. EW. EW. EW.
Bystander number 3: I have NEVER seen anything like that before. Ever. Not in Vancouver. Ever.
Me: Maybe it’s all the construction on the next block over there…ew…it must of disrupted them.
Blech, I can still feel it running across my left foot whenever I think of it.
Maybe it’s lucky? Being the Year of the Rat and all.
Ewww…GROSS.
I hope I don’t have the plague now.
Sadly, no photos. It happened all so quickly and I didn’t have my camera out.

Bubonic plague!!! YOU should be ASHAMED!!! Oh – I hope no one thinks I’m serious. Does Fred C. visit your blog, ha ha.
yuck! i would have screamed, too … and possible run down the street waving my arms. maybe the rat had been shopping at chanel … they wouldn’t let a plague-ridden rat into chanel … would they?
Wish I coulda’ seen that! HAHA Oh, but really a rat is just a squirrel without the fuzzy tail.
Still, I woulda’ screamed too. honest. I’ve only had a mouse run across my foot in my own house once and I screamed. I was much younger then
All this construction in Vancouver is totally uprooting everything. But I’d go with the Year of the Rat, as in, it was a good sign.
lol…sitting at the ‘puter reading that a rat ran across your foot and I automatically raised my feet off the carpet! (but there are no rats in my house)!
Gotta be all the construction, but still!
ewwwww. {{shudder}}
