I left a bit earlier than usual to pick up Mike from work tonight. Finally I remembered to stop and take photos of the lions I drive by on the back route to the Shaw building. But first, I pulled over on Hastings street to get a few shots of this sign. It looks like the Astoria sign has been refurbished, but that Paint sign looks like it’s been there for some time.
After I took a few quick shots, I hopped back in the car and headed over toward CRAB park.

There are two lions – one on each side of the overpass toward a public park that was developed by the Vancouver Port Authority. There’s a dog park there, so it gets busy – especially in the mornings on the weekend. But tonight, it was pretty quiet, some tourists walked by, and lots of people on their bikes rode past me.
And the trains rumbled underneath us.
I think of all the photos of the lion, this one is my favourite.
It reminds me of Oscar looking out the window.
Guess what? Lion butt!
