No idling, m’kay?

Tonight after work, there was a MAJOR motion picture being filmed right near the bus stop. I know this was a big one because there were A LOT of people swarming the barricades blocking the set (I think that’s what you call it. That area where the actors are supposed to be acting for the cameras) and they all had cameras. I got over there just as someone took a photo with a flash while the cameras were rolling. GOOD GOING. The security guys promptly started shoo-ing the crowds away and I saw nothing but these NO IDLING signs and the fake street signs. I clearly heard from the people nearby that they were filming Percy Jackson. I had no idea what that was and had to look it up on my bus ride home on the accordion bus. I looked it up and it looks like some new kind of Harry Potter story, but with ADHD? What? Weird. This is the cast of this movie, and I think I read somewhere that Nathan Fillion is part of this movie. Hooray! I know who one of the actors is!

Oh dear. I think it’s really true. I’m officially an old fuddy-duddy. I came to this conclusion after I noticed my lack of knowledge in a recent music-related conversation at a work meeting the other day, then I noticed that I’ve been referring to 20 year olds as “kids”, then I wondered why the VCAD students were dressing like hippies when they don’t even know what hippies really did and meant, and then today, when the girls were squealing and taking photos of Percy whoever, I rolled my eyes and hoped they wouldn’t be sitting next to me on the bus.

If I start yelling at the neighbourhood kids to get off my lawn, I’m in big trouble.

I told off teenagers for texting and walking into me. Also old.

But I also watched Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief on netflix. I liked it. Very Clash of the Titans for teens. Sometimes I don’t want to be an adult.
