The Tiny Cabin Bundt Cake

Due to popular demand – okay, one person asked for the recipe – I present you with the…

One-bowl Chocolate Cake Recipe

1 cup sugar
½ cup of butter
1 egg
¼ tsp of salt
1 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of vanilla
1 ½ cups of flour
½ cup of cocoa
½ cup of milk
½ cup of boiling water

Pre-heat the oven to 350° F
Grease the cake pan! Don’t forget, like I did!

Put all the ingredients in a large bowl at once, leaving milk and boiling water until last. Mix just until well blended. It takes about 35 minutes to bake a cake, and 20 minutes if you make cupcakes.

This recipe doubles well. I doubled this recipe to make the tiny cottage cake shown above. Although this isn’t a bundt cake recipe, it worked very well in the bundt pan as it is a moist, dense, delicious cake. This is the recipe my Mom used at just about every birthday I can remember growing up and it makes yummy cupcakes, too.

The cooking time for a doubled recipe is nearly an hour. I set the timer for 50 minutes and checked every 5 minutes or so after for doneness.

Thank you Carol, I might even try that and impress my pro baker sister in law.
My mother made a boiled raisin chocolate cake, you wouldn’t have a recipe for that type of cake??
