I was out with some pals tonight and on my way to pick up Mike, I noticed the the Akali Singh Sikh Temple all lit up in the night. I pulled over and took many photos. A tripod would have been a good idea, but I did the lean and hold your breath method, and it turned out pretty much in focus except for the moon. Not bad! Hooray!
I did a quick search on the internets, and this temple is very generous to the community. It turns out they provide free meals for anyone who wishes. That may be fun to try sometime. I would love to see inside this temple, but I’m sure there are some restrictions with photos because it’s a place of worship. But, maybe not, you can take as many photos as you like inside the Cathedrals downtown…I should find out.
They also have free summer camps for Sikh kids. That’s pretty cool.
I know it’s only Tuesday, but the weather has been glorious and I’m just thinking about the long weekend coming up. Mike’s got 2 days off in a row, so I hope we’ll do something fun. Also, it’s his birthday on Sunday, so we really should do something instead of watching 8 documentaries in a row like last weekend. I know. That’s a lot of documentaries. But I learned a lot about Bruce Lee and a man named Jiro who dreams of Sushi and both were amazing. In fact, I’m thinking I may do a quote from Bruce Lee in a quilt or a cross stitch pattern.
“…water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.” – Bruce Lee
Okay, that’s another project AFTER I make the t-shirt quilt. I really need to get back to that!

If you go, you’ll have to also eat at the Buddhist temple on Boundary Road and compare. They supposedly have amazing vegetarian meals.
