“What does it mean?”

in General, Photos, Vancouver

I stopped on my way to the office to take a photo of these words in Gastown.

Man sweeping the parking lot below the words: What are you taking a picture of?

Me: That sign!

Sweeping man: What does it mean?

Me: I don’t know!

I’ve driven past this sign many times and after doing a little research, it’s not a sign at all. It’s graffiti. That is the neatest, cleanest graffiti I’ve ever seen. I’m stumped by it. It’s a very well documented graffiti piece on the google. Other than that saying about having a good head on your shoulders, I’m not sure what else it could mean. I’m going with that…we used to have a good head on our shoulders. I wonder what happened to us? Whoa. Those are some deep thoughts.

Meanwhile, around the corner, I’m pretty sure I know what this sign means…

Same as lumberjack supplies! Axes, boots, high heels, suspenders…you know the rest.

I’m glad to have such a good head on my shoulders. But wait – there’s nothing in that grafitti about heads on shoulders – just necks on shoulders.

Ugh. I have no idea what it means.

I think it’s about love. When you embrace, your shoulders and necks meet. Non?

How could I NOT have realized that? Incredible! I think you’re right!
