Caught in a downpour

Thundershowers were on the weather menu today. And they just happened to start as I waited for the stoplight to change so I could cross the street to hustle home. It seemed like the longest stoplight in the world, but it didn’t matter because that was the longest 2 blocks to walk to get home. Still, it was a little bit fun, what with the thunder and lightning all around me. I made it home – soggy and lightning free. Hooray! Also, my camera was safe and sound. My purse is made of nylon, so the water didn’t absorb into the bag at all.

Even though we’re experiencing thundershowers and lightning at the moment, we’ve got some sunny desktop calendars for the month of August. How about some cheerful windflowers?

Or some happy-go-lucky ice dyed quilting fabric by Cynthia? Of course it’s by Cynthia. Who else dyes fabric with ice?

And, if you need to relax a little bit, how about a beautiful New Mexican sunset courtesy of Scout?

It’s dreamy and lovely – no lightning or rain to be found.
