Daffodils – 2 bunches for $5

Wow! That was quick. It’s like we were only celebrating Christmas last month and BOOM! Daffodils are 2 bunches for 5 bucks. It’s feeling springy around these parts – the temperature feels warm despited the rain we’ve been having these last few days. When I picked out calendars last week (at Chapters – they were 75% off) I was sure to pick out flowery and bloomy ones for my office. Just an aside, I bought a kitty calendar for the kitchen that just happens to hang above Oscar’s food dish. I think that officially makes me a dog AND a kitty person. Once you start buying calendars with cats wearing wigs or monocles, I think you’ve crossed THAT line.

I know what you’re thinking, “Wait! Too soon! What will become of The Vancouver 2010 Games?”. Don’t despair! I hear they are pumping out snow on the mountains like crazy using the snow making machines. And Whistler always has snow, so I’m fairly certain the skiers won’t be skiing down bumpy brown and grassy mountains hitting rocks every now and then.

I think we’ll be finding out tomorrow the status of our office for those two weeks in February. Many offices locally will be having their employees work from home where possible. We’ve heard on the news the city has suggested people working downtown do so  from 7 am to 2 pm if possible so that getting to the events is not so slow going. The road closures have started and I understand that the Richmond Oval is now closed to the general public.

I’m looking forward to it all and today I got my approval for the True North Media House, so I’m good to go.

Ah “Spring”… can’t wait. I am pretending the snow falling outside my window are petals from daisies. :) )

TNMH sounds very interesting! Good for you!

and I can’t believe the daffodils are here already ! Did you buy a couple of bunches?

I heard that many of the Vancouver road closures will start at noon – so if you are work in the area, shouldn’t you get to leave work before that? What a disruption of business!

The magnolia that grows outside my appartment and to the right has little fuzzy buds on it. The earth thinks it is spring.

We just got told that office hours are running per normal and if we live south or east of Richmond, No Excuses. I think I will be fine except for extra traffic through the Olympics. I am looking forward to your reports of the downtown. It sounds like it is going to be CrazyVille.
