Granville Island

I had the good fortune of having an employer meeting right around the corner from Granville Island! Granville Island is always a feel good place for me. When I lived in Calgary and would come out to visit my Aunt & Uncle, I would love to come to the Island and see flowers outside in the middle of JANUARY! or FEBRUARY! Unheard of in Calgary. Really. Calgary has awful, cold winters. I even took some planted tulips home with me as carry on luggage. I put it through the x-ray machine without any problem at all. Boy. Those were the days.

As you can see, I’m still very much in love with my Lensbaby and enjoyed creating heart bokeh shapes inside the food court area. I got there around 11:30, so it wasn’t too busy at all.

Granville Island

It’s a cheerful, colourful place, even in the dead of winter (as dead as the winter gets for us).

Veggies

This year I’m participating in a Super Mega Exciting Radical Scavenger Hunt (SMERSH for short) which means, I have to take photos of 102 specific things over the next few months? I’m not sure exactly, but it’s safe to say it’s a casual deadline. Hooray! Another project!

I’m heading to bed early tonight. I’ve got the Shaw Shuttle bright and early tomorrow. And once I get home, it’s quilting city. I’m going to keep working on my lantern quilt. I’ll show you my progress tomorrow.

If you’d like to see all the photos I took today at lunch, you can find them here. I wish every wintery city had a Granville Island retreat. But if you don’t, just pretend you’re here.
