I almost missed them! The peonies have fully bloomed and I didn’t even notice until today – the first day of summer 2012. Thankfully, it arrived with sun. Not to go on and on about it, but it’s been pretty gloomy around these parts these last few weeks. ANYWAY, thanks to that weather pattern, the peonies are as happy as ever.
The front yard is lush with buttercups, ivy, and these flowers that survived the neighbour’s landscaping a couple of years ago now. It took a while for them to bounce back. Actually, I thought they were gone forever, so having them back now is a bonus. Sadly, they are crawling with ants, so they’ll be staying outside. Grim.
The last couple of weeks, I’ve been getting up early – about 6:30 – and sewing for a couple of hours before going to work. Tomorrow morning I’ve got to put the finishing touches on pouch number 2. It turned into a drawstring pouch, but it’s looking pretty snazzy anyway. I’ll show you the finished result tomorrow. After work, I’ll head over to the Vancouver Quilting Guild Meeting at Langara College to deliver the little sewn treasures. I hear there will be door prizes for everyone!
I am so there.
