I was invited to my friend’s place this evening. She has a beautiful flat roofed house up the street from us with this view of the Strait of Georgia. The North Shore is directly opposite Sharon’s house and you can see all the way up to Deep Cove and this leads up to Indian Arm. That’s where we’ve gone kayaking in the past. The tankers make me a little bit nervous now, and to be honest, a few months ago I wouldn’t have even noticed they were there. Sharon told me that one tanker (bottom left) has been sitting there for about 2 weeks.
Also in the neighbourhood? Lots of butterfly bushes like this one in our yard.

They smell nice – like honey and I’ve seen birds in there, but no butterflies spotted yet. I’m on the prowl for butterflies, though. Once I find them, you’ll be the first to see them.
Sometimes I forget how pretty the neighbourhood is where I live.

That was a perfect shot, Carol
Ah, we live in paradise! Gorgeous. (Great shot too.)
I have seen Butterfly bushes just swarming with butterflies in other years. I hope the butterflies are OK.
I wasn’t aware that some of the tanker/container ship traffic went that far down the Indian Arm. Mind you, I still find it odd to see the ships cruise down the south arm of the Fraser when I walk along the dyke by my place in Steveston.
Awesome photos as always Carol.
Hey, I just heard we officially renamed the Georgia Strait to “Salish Sea”…. a factoid for you!
I’m just glad they didn’t rename Stanley Park.
Cruise ships in Steveston? that is weird.
I had no idea! Salish Sea? I like it.
Not cruise ships, but container/tanker ships cruising.
