Purple roses

Please enjoy the sight and the rosy smell coming from these roses. They had an old fashioned rose smell – very perfume-y. Ada at the office brought these in today.

Purple has never really been my favourite colour, but ever since my recent Feng Shui hobby kicked in, I have been considering using it in a few areas in the house and perhaps, in clothing, like royalty. After I read this article about Purple Power, I’ve been thinking about it.

I have to admit, I am really enjoying learning about all the symbolism in this practice the best. In school, that was my favourite part of English class – figuring out the foreshadowing, and what did THAT represent in this part of the book? Kind of like a little mysteries within the story. Feng shui is fun that way. And also sometimes very literal. For example, the colour black represents money. Heh. I never even made that connection until I heard someone say, “His business is in the black.”. Oh right! Of course. Mystery solved. Some mysteries are little tougher to figure out.

I’m off now to finish baking these Apple & Caramel cookies. I substituted butterscotch chips for caramel chips. Gotta tell you, they are yummy and delicious. Good thing because the recipe actually makes 4 dozen cookies. For real. I just may take some in to work. And since they contain apples and oatmeal, they are practically health food. Or at the very least, a breakfast cookie.
