This is where I live – a series.

in Photos, Vancouver

I stood atop Burnaby Mountain (I love that place) and took photos of the sunset tonight. That’s the Lions Gate Bridge in the distance. I was hoping to see some stars for the meteor shower, but didn’t see many. I was completely unprepared for the massive mosquito attack up there. Attacks by big, fat, Winnipeg-sized mosquitoes. I am going to be itchy tomorrow. I’d better get the baking soda bath ready.

Unfortunately, many mosquitoes were harmed during the making of these photos.

Two more landscape shots below.

I think taking photos for Grandma’s cookbook turned me into a tripod user. I brought it with me to the mountain today and really like the results. I’m going to bring it with me more often.

I also feel a bit better about being a manual focuser after so much close up photo work of food and supplies. Both these things will come in handy with the 12X12 film photo marathon I’ve entered again next month.

I really need to get cracking with the film camera. I read the whole manual today, so I’m off to a good start, or second start. And I think I’ll bring my tripod with me on the marathon.

I know that sky! Here’s my version of it: http://tatterededge.blogspot.com/2010/01/dawns-early-light.html

To us WInnipeggers, Skeeters are our provincial bird! ;)

I was thinking that would be the place to be to see the meteor shower. It would be dark enough, I think.
