I spotted this stencil graffiti of a very young Bill Murray AGES ago. We go past it all the time, bit it’s located in a spot where it is dangerous to stop and take photos. So, tonight, after I was out gallivanting after work, I parked the car at the gas station parking lot on the corner of Lougheed and Sperling:

and walked along the big retaining wall. It was very rocky – I think they made it that way so you use the path above the wall instead of walking close to road. I’m not sure what to call it. The road eventually leads to the highway – so an on-ramp? Maybe. In any event, it’s not a leisurely 30 km neighbourhood street. I was very careful, got pretty close to the graffiti, but didn’t like that angle. So I had to carefully cross the 4 lanes of traffic to some kind of electrical station with prickly bushes and was able to get a proper photo of Tripper, from Meatballs. I love old school Bill Murray. How could you not with a quote like this?

Tripper: [over P.A] Attention campers, afternoon swim schedule is as follows. Advanced dolphins, report to the dock for survival swimming and I.Q. testing. All senior silverfish, meet on the beach for nude sunbathing. All junior salmon, trout, and herring, report to the nearest delicatessen. And 6-year-old tadpoles, report to the swamp. And all lobsters, GET OUT OF HERE! YOU’RE A MENACE!

I wonder who the graffiti artist was who did this? Enquiring minds want to know. And was he/she thinking about the oldie time Saturday Night Live skits? Like the Land Shark? Or the nerd, Todd DiLaMuca, on the couch with Gilda Radner?

Who are you, mystery street artist? WHO ARE YOU?
