The sunbathers

The sun is shining bright today and these sunbeams got the kitties out of the bedroom (their usual daytime hangout) into the kitchen to absorb every ray. I guess they must get really warm, they are black after all. They must absorb every bit of heat there is.

One reason

I took photos of all the kitty loaves around the house today starting with the always intense-looking, Oscar. He’s a nice guy – sometimes a bit aloof, but he’s not as grumpy as he looks.

The anvil of foreshadowing

My sister sent me this cartoon today. I’m pretty sure this is what we can expect from Donner – our littlest kitty. Not good. That means no glass ornaments this year. And probably next year.

Thank goodness I made that little Babushka ornament…she’ll be fine on the tree. She’s a very safe ornament.

Guess what tomorrow is? December 1st. You know what that means…

Advent calendar time! I’ve already started working on it. Tomorrow AM marks the beginning of this year’s adventure.

Let the advent begin!

Adorable kitties are adorable.

I’m not sure about you, but today has been the laziest day on record. We lounged around, I made cornmeal muffins and that’s about it. I don’t even remember what else we did all day. Right now we are watching the crappiest/cornbally-est/cheesebally-est movie Steven Spielberg has ever made. I can’t believe this is the same person who created Jaws. HOW? WHY? PEE. YEW.

Anyway, along with us being super lazy, the kitties were both lazy AND cute, so here are a couple of close ups, just in case you can’t see all the cuteness in photobooth style series of photos above.

Sleepy Heads

August 3, 2011

Lucky Mike – he gets to sleep in when he works the afternoon shift. This is how I leave these two when I’m off to work in mornings. That’s little Donner on my pillow. He can’t wait for me to get the heck out of his spot every morning. Sometimes he won’t even wait for [...]

Kitties on the balcony

July 29, 2011

Let me explain. I’m not proud of what I’m about to tell you. But I couldn’t help myself. I bought a purse in the shape of a cat. How did I justify the purchase of this $10 purse? 1) it was $10 2) it’s a black cat 3) it’s so bad it’s good 4) and [...]

True or false

July 10, 2011

True or false? This is Donner posing as Burt Reynolds. True. True or false? This is Donner posing as Zoolander. Also true. Either way, Donner is really, really, good looking. He found a cool spot on the washing machine. It’s right in front of the screen door and this evening the breeze was lovely right [...]

The crown

April 18, 2011

I came home to find this little helper on my Royal Wedding cross stitch. Donner has taken to perching on the ironing board whenever it’s out. He was sitting like a gargoyle on it initially, but once I started taking his photo, he stretched and got out of the way. He’s getting more and more [...]

Today…

November 16, 2010

…completely kicked my a$$. I know. I don’t usually swear on the air, but today was a tough one. I won’t bother with the details – suffice to say I was disappointed and was a disappointment today. Now that I’ve typed that out, I think it may just cancel itself out. So, let’s just pretend [...]

He’s the king of the castle…

November 13, 2010

This is Oscar in his kitty carrier (both kitties love it, so we just leave it out for them to hang out in) with all the toys in the house surrounding him – including a chicken toy with real feathers still on it. Why this chicken has not been ripped from limb to limb yet [...]
