Welcome January 2012

Welcome 2012! We’re ringing in the New Year with some Chinese lanterns, some beautifully “quainted” poppies by Cynthia – just an aside, she’s featured in the January/February edition of Cloth, Paper, Scissors in their 10 top Artisans of 2012. Shes on page 20-21. Incredible! Congratulations, Cynthia! Also, we have a beautiful sunrise or sunset from Scout. I’m rarely up early enough to know what a sunrise looks like, so I’m only guessing on that front.

The “You’d Better Watch Out” Giveaway

by Carol Browne on November 14, 2011 · 14 comments

in Crafts, Photos

It’s been awhile since I’ve given anything away on my blog. That’s about to change! If you like Santa, and you like Christmas, I think you just may like a package of my special series of cards. I call them, The “You’d Better Watch Out” Pack.

This series of photocards was photographed on the North Shore Mountains on a cold, wintery day. Each package of cards contains 1 of each fine art print – for a total of 5 cards per package. I also used my favourite Christmas tree stamp and stamped the inside and the envelope for each card. And that’s good – for goodness sake.

So, if you’d like a pack of cards, I’m giving 2 packages away! You can leave a comment and I’ll do the randomizer thing and give the packages to 2 lucky winners. I’ll keep the comments open for 2 days. And the winner should have his/her cards in plenty of time to send away for Christmas.

Ready? Set? Go!

Calendars for February 2011

It’s what Granville Street in Vancouver looks like at twilight in heart bokeh. I sure do love my lensbaby.

Meanwhile, if you enjoy illustrations and shoes, Cynthia’s calendar is probably right up your alley.

January 2011 - Happy New Year Calendars

It’s the beginning of the year and we have more desktop calendars for you! You have your choice of three this month. Enjoy the view of this cozy home – it’s a building of some sort up on Mt. Seymour on the North Shore. I snowshoed right past it last week. Or was that this week? Ugh. I’m losing track of days and time! Oh no! Well, I’m back to work tomorrow, so I’l be back to Pacific Standard Time.

Not interested in a chilly winter scene? How about a delightful illustration by Cynthia of a tiny neighbourhood?

A hometown hero

July 27, 2010

Dairy Queen was giving away free mini Blizzards today and Maëlle Ricker was there signing autographs WITH her gold medal. Remember her kicking all that a$$ at the Olympics? Here’s the video of her winning the Snowboard Cross race in February. I got to the event around 11:20 (I took an early lunch – I [...]
