I think I’ve skated once since I was 8 years old or so. That could make me a bad Canadian. And I don’t speak French either, so I’d better be careful or I could get stripped of my citizenship. In my defense, I do love watching hockey and really enjoy snow-shoeing, so perhaps I’m okay. In any event, I went over to the newly renovated ice skating rink over on Robson Square right next to the Vancouver Art Gallery to see the new digs after reading about it on Vancity Buzz.
The rink is covered with dome glass tops and goes underneath Robson Street. It’s pretty cool down there and they’ve got it all lit up with blue lights, which turns out my camera doesn’t exactly like. I’ll have to go back to see if I can get some less noisy photos. I can see the pixels in there. I changed the white balance and everything. Still, the photos were quite speckled. I’ll also try a lower ISO next time. I’ll figure it out.
Meanwhile, over on the other side of rink, I spotted a friend…
