Sleep

August 13, 2011

Despite being late this morning to the quilting bee in Abbotsford – I blame the traffic with a touch of poor planning – I was able to get my first word completed! This is the first word in the phrase, “Sleep peacefully, wake joyfully”. Completing the rectangular block was quite satisfying, as I could read [...]

“There is time for everything.” – Thomas Edison

July 3, 2011

You open the bedroom window for one minute…and Oscar’s right out on the balcony! This photo was taken moments before he jumped through the window. Donner’s not nearly as adventurous. I think Donner had all his adventures as a feral kitty and prefers the luxury of living inside. I sure hope Thomas Edison is right [...]

An urban legend confirmed…

April 23, 2011

I probably shouldn’t be taking photos while driving, but Mount Baker looked so beautiful in the side mirror, I had to take my chances. And is that a Union Jack Mini as well? Jackpot! I so *heart* the UK these days. The Fraser Valley Modern Quilt Guild had an all day sew-in today out in [...]

Stitching

April 3, 2011

Whoa. That’s a busy quilt square. My mystery quilt is turning out to be pretty colourful and a bit on the crazy side. Would this make a good quilt for a little kid? It could be. I’ll keep working on it and see how it looks. I could put some sashing of plain fabric between [...]

Sewing success!

November 8, 2010

After thoroughly doing my research on copyrights and quilt patterns, I think it’s totally cool to post the photo above as Theresa has posted the same pattern quite a few times on flickr. Hooray! [And that's the extent of my research.] Let’s just hope for the best on this one. Anyway, I was hoping that [...]

So much accomplished today!

April 25, 2010

The tea party was a big success. It’s not often you get good company, great treats and a fun project all at once. Our project today? Fancy photo frames. We painted, modge podged, glittered and adhered decorative pieces on those plain old boring wooden picture frames you get from Ikea. There were babies and pets [...]

The beanbag and the table runner

February 7, 2010

I had a day of sewing that started off with a little beanbag for Mike’s spacephone. We’ve been listening to his iphone as we drift off to sleep at night and thought it would be nice to have a little dock for it. Mike also uses it for his alarm clock. All I did was [...]
