Thanks to Mike, we were able to go to the Canucks open practice this morning at GM Place. The arena was packed full and they allowed cameras! Yay! I brought my long lens and hoped for the best. I’ll be uploading my photos in batches, so there’s plenty more where that came from.
More photos after the jump…
Of course, I got LUUUUOOOO, or as we also call him, The Count.

His widow’s peak makes him look like The Count from Sesame Street. Oh, how I wished we had thought of that ourselves, but we didn’t. We got an email of a side by side photo of Luongo and The Count and the resemblance is uncanny.

The coach – Alain Vigneault - he is way smilier at practice than when you see him behind the bench in his suit.
Next up, one Sedin. I think it was Henrik. Daniel didn’t show up for practice today. I found this weird because I didn’t think the twins would do anything without the other – like Bob and Doug McKenzie. But Henrik did a fine job practising without his brother.

And here’s Wellwood. He’s in my top 5 list of favourite Canucks.

And here’s Willie Mitchell on the right…

I had NO IDEA there could be one Sedin without the other. I wonder if your photo of the lone Sedin is a shockingly rare artifact of a freak, never-to-occur-again happening?
And seriously, this is SO exciting! I’m jealous! I want to go to open practice!!
Great shots, Carol.
Daniel Sedin has broken his foot. He’s peeping plaintively at home without his brother.
You are quite the hockey fan – and photographer!
